On November 17, 2022, The Edge held their annual conference to fundraise for The Alzheimer’s Association (NYC Chapter). Through the generosity of attendees, The Edge beat last year’s raise with a total of $15,850. This year’s guest speakers included Joel Greenblatt’s return, cognitive psychologist Gary Klein, and Ariel Investments CIO Rupal Bhansali. On November 18, 2021, The Edge held their annual conference for Alzheimer’s disease. Through the generosity of attendees, The Edge raised over $15,000. Viewers of this first-ever digital event heard from experts in catalyst investing and insider buying on their most compelling current stocks, special guest speakers from KPMG unveiled findings from a carve-out study cowritten with The Edge, and a live Q&A session with the panel allowed for an intimate discussion on the nuances of Special Situations. The Edge filled the room with their second conference in NYC on Wednesday, November 28 at the exclusive Penn Club, this time focused on Spinoffs in relation to activism. Attendees from across the investing world were treated to several live idea presentations from activist investor firms, as well as a special discussion on insider buying with legendary specialist George Muzea. With almost 100 money managers, The Edge debated where, if any, Spinoffs make money. The event was non-profit, and all donations went to the Alzheimer’s Association.
